We are happy to celebrate a significant achievement by our consortium partner, Cool Planet Technologies, as announced in their recent press release.
Cool Planet Technologies has successfully tested its third-generation membrane module, demonstrating the capture of up to 37,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year with 95% recovery rates across a variety of industrial emissions, including lime, cement, steel, and waste-to-energy sectors. This breakthrough validates the scalability and performance of their technology and brings industrial-scale carbon capture one step closer to reality.
Key highlights:
– Performance at scale confirmed with a single compact module
– Excellent correlation with predictive simulation models
– Insights driving the next generation of high-performance capture modules
Next, the module will be integrated into the Holcim cement plant demonstration project in Höver, Lower Saxony in Germany, advancing toward TRL8 and full-scale validation.
At ICO₂NIC, we’re proud to collaborate with partners like Cool Planet in our mission to develop and deploy innovative CO₂ capture and utilisation solutions. Achievements like this underscore that the transition to a low-carbon industrial sector is underway.
