Cool Planet Technologies presents ICO₂NIC in an interview with Carbon Pulse

Our project partner, Cool Planet Technologies, is featured in Carbon Pulse discussing the shifting landscape of carbon capture and the vital role of the ICO₂NIC project!

As carbon prices fluctuate, the business case for CO₂ utilisation is becoming stronger than ever. ICO₂NIC is proving that it can be a valuable feedstock for a circular economy.

How is ICO₂NIC making an impact?

📍 At the Source: Cool Planet Technologies is developing a carbon capture plant at a Holcim cement site, providing the CO₂ needed for our conversion process.

🧪 The Conversion: We are using innovative electrochemical technology to transform captured CO₂ into formic acid.

✈️ The Result: This formic acid serves as a sustainable building block for high-value products, including Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and microbial oils for personal care products.

Our goal: to decarbonise hard-to-abate industries by making carbon recycling an economically viable reality.

Huge thanks to Bryony Collins for the great interview, and to Andrew Corner, Steve Roser, and the team at Cool Planet Technologies for highlighting how ICO₂NIC is bridging the gap between carbon capture and a fossil-free future.
