Cool Planet Technologies (CPT) is a UK-based engineering and technology company focused on the commercial development of advanced membrane carbon capture solutions. Its technology is designed to help large industrial emitters across sectors such as cement, lime, refining, steel, and energy-from-waste reduce their carbon emissions and accelerate the transition towards net-zero industry.
In ICO₂NIC, CPT is responsible for providing the membrane-based carbon capture technology that will supply the specification-grade CO₂ required by project partners for downstream utilisation pathways, including the production of formic acid. Building on an existing membrane capture system, CPT will refurbish and adapt the technology for deployment at Holcim’s cement production facility, which will host the project demonstrator. Through this work, CPT will support the capture and purification of CO₂, enabling its conversion into valuable products across the ICO₂NIC value chain.
